Quilting Basics for Beginners - Piecing

We are pleased to offer a variation on our workshop for beginner or novice quilters.  You will learn Piecing, i.e. the construction of some basic units, by using some of the designs in this quilt pattern.

Students will learn about choosing and preparing fabric, the basics of rotary cutting, the pressing technique, and the 1/4" seam, and select blocks like the rail fence, half-square triangle, snowball, and flying geese.  Students will leave with  some the teaching blocks from this pattern, and an idea of how to complete the others.

Our Instructor is Anne Rankin.  Thanks so much Anne!

Note:  This is a Techniques Workshop for Beginners.  No actual quilts will be completed.  Participants must have a working sewing machine and be able to operate it.

Cost:  $45 for Members; $55 for Non-Members

Space:  3 min/8 max

Supply List:  QBB-P - Supply List - Sept 28-2024 as of July-24.docx

Everyone will have a separate 6' table.  Masks are not mandatory but health officials are still recommending we use them to stay safe.  It's your choice but please respect other people's decisions.
