We are happy to welcome Stittsville's Beth Van Wyngaartento our meeting in October. She will entertain us with both a trunk show and slide show. Quilting is an important part of Beth’s life. The colour and textures created in quilts have captured her imagination since 1987.
Beth’s art quilts and patterns are available at a number of local shops as well as in her Etsy store. She has been published in several quilt industry magazines including Canadian Quilting Association (CQA) and Art Quilting Studios. Her quilts have won awards at the Calgary Stampede and have been juried into the Canadian National Quilt Show, Kanata Civic Art Gallery and Houston International Quilt Festival.
While treasuring traditional quilt designs and techniques, she also enjoys exploring more contemporary designs and creating new techniques. Nature and celebration of Canada’s natural and cultural heritage are inspirations for my designs.
She currently creates art quilts, writes quilt patterns and presents trunk shows. She enjoys teaching at local guilds and quilt shops. The opportunity to create a commissioned quilt is always a fun challenge too. Beth is the long-arm quilter out of the Maker Savvy studio on Hazeldean Road in Kanata.
