Become a Member

To become a member of the Ottawa Valley Quilters Guild, read the following sections on this page.

You can also view our Constitution and Members' Handbook, and email questions to the Membership Coordinator.

Membership Year

A one-year membership costs $40, and runs from July 1st to June 30th.

  • If you join before May 1st, your membership will expire on June 30th.
  • If you join in May or June, your membership will be extended to the end of the following year.

Membership Benefits

  • 10 great monthly meetings from September to June.
  • One free guest pass valid for any monthly meeting.
  • E-mail notification of each new issue of the Guild’s newsletter, “The Pieceful Times”. (9 issues per year)
  • Access to all Guild activities, including members-only sew alongs, sew days, and more.
  • Access to our library of quilting books, rulers, and magazines.
  • Members-only discounts on workshops, which are available for all levels and areas of interest, and feature excellent instructors and affordable fees.
  • Access to the members-only pages on the Guild's website.
  • Enter your quilts in our biennial Quilt Show.

How to Apply

  • Membership in the OVQG for the 2026-2027 Guild year is limited to 240 people.
  • Non-members who want to join should e-mail the Membership Coordinator. Be sure to state if you want to be added to the Guild's waiting list if there is no space currently available.
  • The Membership Coordinator's reply will inform you if there is an available space.
    • If so, you will receive an application form and instructions for completing your application.
    • If not, you can still attend monthly meetings as a guest, read our monthly Newsletter on the web, and register for workshops at the non-member price, until a membership space becomes available.
  • Note: You will not be an active member, with full access to the members-only pages on our website and to members-only discounts for workshops, until your payment has been received in full.

Payment Methods

  1. e-Transfer   (Preferred)
    • Click Invoice me during the application process to receive an invoice by email.
    • Send the e-Transfer to membership@ottawavalleyquiltersguild.org.
    • Be sure to specify Membership Fee for <your name> in the transfer comments section.
    • Note: A password is not required for these transfers.
  2. Cheque
    • Click Invoice me during the application process to receive an invoice by email.
    • Make out the cheque to OVQG and bring it to the Membership table at the monthly meeting.
  3. Cash
    • Click Invoice me during the application process to receive an invoice by email.
    • Pay in cash at the Membership table during the monthly meeting.
  4. Credit/debit card   (Discouraged, as PayPal charges the Guild a service fee)
    • Click Pay with credit or debit card during the application process.
    • Follow PayPal's instructions. Important: If you don't want to provide your date of birth and occupation and create a PayPal account, disable the Save info & create PayPal account button.
