Learn hand appliqué, using the needle-turn technique, and make a Mexican Rose block.

From this, you can make a pillow, a table runner, a wall quilt, or even a full bed quilt should you be so inspired.

In the morning session, you will learn how to hand appliqué simple shapes and make stems and circles.  In the afternoon session you will assemble and start to appliqué one Mexican Rose block.

Some advance preparation is required.

Books and Articles:  Joan has published 11 patterns.  The image of the Baltimore Album Quilt Never Again...Again was featured on the cover of the catalogue for the IQF 2013 Chicago show and appeared in 500 Traditional Quilts, 2014, and also in Elly Sienkiewicz's reissue of Spoken Without a Word, 2015.  The image of the Baltimore Album Quilt 3 of 1and a block from the Baltimore Album Quilt Quilt More also appeared in Spoken Without a Word.
