Monika Henry of Penny Spool Quilts (www.pennyspoolquilts.com) comes to us from neighbouring Carleton Place, Ontario and will be presenting A Planner’s Adventures in Improv. Monika will take us on her journey to improvised quilting as someone who once insisted that improv gave her hives. She will detail how she developed a simple, structured approach to “planned improv” quilting to overcome that feeling of being overwhelmed. Sharing a number of quilts, she will also show us how leftovers from past projects may become intentional and playful improvised mini quilts.
