Emilie Trahn - Quilt as You Grow

This month we welcome Emilie Trahn (www.emilietrahn.com) from Joliette, Quebec. By day, Emilie is a palliative care physician and in her spare time she is a self-taught quilter who started quilting in 2013. Grounded in the roots of the origins of quilting and because of environmental concerns, her quilts are all made of upcycled fabrics such as bed sheets, shirts, scraps, tablecloths, etc., as well as upcycled batting such as flannel sheets, and blankets, essentially making new with the old. She combines the language and poetry of colours to create her unique pieces. Emilie will present to us her lecture Quilt as You Grow.
